Five Year 7 girls from Bolton School, each one representing their Form, became ‘Santa’s Little Helpers’ as they dashed around Bolton’s Toys R Us store, filling their trolleys with gifts which will be donated to Key 103’s Cash4Kids Mission Christmas Appeal.

The presents will be given to children in need across Greater Manchester this Christmas.

Aided by Sixth Form students, the pairs had just fifteen minutes to fill their trolleys with a range of presents for young girls and boys, young and old.

In total, the girls and staff had £2,820 to spend in the store and a further £1,000 was also donated to Key 103.

The sum of £3,820 had been raised during a 24-hour sponsored silence which involved the entire Year 7 age group (126 pupils).

Pupil Tanya Thakrar said: “That was great fun and it was good to know it was for such a good cause too!”
