Join Bolton Ramblers on Saturday, September 1st when they travel by coach to the North Pennines. Two walks will be on offer, one of 9 miles and one of 5.
The walks will explore Smardale Gill before picking up Wainwright's Coast to Coast Path with splendid views over the Howgills. The route then passes prehistoric settlements, limekilns and an old railway with fine views across the valley of the River Eden to Nine Standards Rigg.
Passing finally under the iconic Settle to Carlisle Railway line, there is only another mile to the pubs and cafes of Kirkby Stephen.
