Everyone is welcome at the launch of Reading Friends on Friday, February 22, at Bolton Central Library, with a buffet lunch from 1pm to 3pm
Reading Friends offers an opportunity to listen, chat and relax as the written word is brought to life with readings from favourite poems and novels.
Becoming a Reading Friend is a chance to take time out, meet new people and share stories.
The launch is open to those interested in joining a Reading Friends group at Bolton Central Library or to anyone interested in introducing Reading Friends to an existing group.
Bolton Central Library Reading Friends will meet on the second Friday of every month from 2pm to 3pm.
Reading Friends is a national initiative co-ordinated by The Reading Agency and funded by The National Lottery and Arts Council England.
Bolton Council’s Executive Cabinet Member of Culture and Sport, Cllr John Byrne, said: “Not only do our libraries offer a valuable resource for information, but they are also a great place to enjoy new experiences and meet new people.
“Reading Friends is an ideal opportunity to share some good reads and enjoy lively discussions.”
