In the run up to Christmas 2020, pupils and teachers in the Bolton, Greater Manchester district were getting ready and rehearsing their submissions for the Bolton Schools' Song Of Hope contest. The public were then invited to decide who wins. The singing competition organised by Bolton Market Place in conjunction with Trust Music brought joy across the region and gave local Bolton school's the chance to win valuable funds to buy musical instruments and to support music projects with a prize of £500 being presented to the winning group's school. The ‘Bolton Schools' Song of Hope' project aimed to offset the lockdown gloom and bring cheer in these difficult times.

With many entrants and outstanding quality performances, it was a lovely way to get into the Christmas spirit and the public got behind the choirs and cast their votes for their favourite songs.

Voting is now closed and your winners are... Rivington and Blackrod High School with their submission of 'A Thousand Years'
